After 5 years, 24 releases and more than 315,000 downloads My APKs 3.0 is here and it's still free and without advertisements !!! And still very light (less than 500 kb) and requiring very few permissions to operate !!!

Here there are several common questions asked by users (and our answers!):

• Why there are promo screens in My APKs?
  
  After 5 years, 24 releases and more than 315,000 downloads My APKs is still free and without advertisements. Bad news are My APKs got only a few hundred of likes and followers a very sad fact for developers, so we need your help... please share My APKs with your friends/contacts and ask them to do the same, promote on social networks and other ways you can... a big thank you in advance. Those promo screens give users infomation about our apps and they are an attempt to avoid insertion of ads. The ads would require more permissions, an active internet connection and overload the app size.


• My antivirus claims My APKs is a virus/malware! What should I do?
  
  My APKs is NOT a virus/malware. It has been downloaded thousands and thousands of times and passed all Google Play checks and Play Protect. Consider also antivirus software is not perfect and sometimes its alerts are just a false positive (read more here). Please add My APKs to whitelist/safelist/exclusions list of your antivirus to avoid malfunction. However, you can uninstall My APKs if you feel better or much secure! But please don't leave negative comments/review because you will damage developers, we can't do anything to remove false positives.


• I've found My APKs on alternative sites, is it safe to download and install from there?
  
  Absolutely NOT. The only official source for My APKs is Google Play app store (see previous question too). By downloading unofficial/unauthorized/hacked/cracked copies of My APKs you expose yourself and your device to malicious code, virus, malware and other dangerous things. Moreover, the only way to receive official My APKs updates is by Google Play.


• My device has Android 5 Lollipop or newer, can I write to my MicroSD card?
  
  My APKs can write to its app-dedicated location on MicroSD card (please see HELP for configuration details). Or, you can download My APKs Pro and write to every location of your external MicroSD card without limitations. Please see next question too.


• Why My APKs has not full access to MicroSD card while My APKs Pro got it?
  
  Well, we decided to keep My APKs as light as possible and to avoid introduction of unnecessary bugs to the maximum extent. To give full access to MicroSD card many parts of its source code should have rewritten or modified, this means one only thing: new unwanted bugs. Furthermore, the size of the final apk would be increased well over several megabytes. Moreover, for advanced demanding users we updated My APKs Pro to fully manage external MicroSD card.


• Does My APKs save my apps/games data and configuration?
  
  No, My APKs only saves apps/games apk. To backup and restore data and configuration, root permissions are required (and of course a rooted device). See the next question too.


• Does My APKs require root access?
  
  No, My APKs works on all devices (rooted or not) and does not require/use root permissions.


• Will My APKs be translated into my language?
  
  No, sorry. Translations are costly and add complexity to the software (they may lead to additional bugs). Anyway you can copy and paste the text of My APKs internal HELP and translate it on the web. Or, you can download My APKs Pro and got online help with translation.


• Will My APKs be redesigned with material design?
  
  Probably not. We think material design is not for every app, would you ask material design for games too? Try to look the playstore, very few backup apps are using material design. Instead we will give users more themes we can. And, again, please don't leave negative comments/review for no material design.


• If I change my device will I lose my in-app purchases?
  
  Absolutely not! If you change your device (for example, you buy a new smartphone) your purchases will be automatically restored if you use the same account you already used on your previuos device. Sometimes this process may take awhile. In those cases you can try to manually force the synchronization of your account to speed up the thing (see HELP and DONATE/IN-APP).
